The Nigerian Naira is under fresh pressure at the parallel market today, Sunday, September 27, 2026, as President Bola Tinubu postponed his return to Nigeria from Europe.

Black market dealers in Lagos, Abuja and Onitsha are selling Dollar at a new rate this evening.

What Is Dollar To Naira Black Market Rate Today?

According to Bureau De Change sources at Lagos Parallel Market, the exchange rate for a dollar to naira today is:

– Buying Rate: ₦1,375

– Selling Rate: ₦1,390

This means if you have $100 today, you will get ₦137,500 when you sell, but you need ₦139,000 to buy $100. 87f3

For $1,000, it is ₦1,375,000 buying and ₦1,390,000 selling.

CBN Official Rate Today

The Central Bank of Nigeria official rate is very different from black market.

– Official CBN Rate: ₦1,329.51 per dollar — recorded on Friday, September 26, from ₦1,328.67 on Thursday.

– The CBN says it does not recognize parallel market and directs Nigerians to use banks. 3575

Why Is Naira Falling Today? What CBN Said

 

The fall comes 24 hours after CBN cut its Monetary Policy Rate to 23.0% and after President Tinubu postponed his return from London and Paris.

According to market analysis, two things happened:

1. MPR Cut: CBN easing borrowing costs to stimulate growth, but foreign investors are watching.
2. Huge Liquidity: About ₦2.27 trillion OMO bills matured, pushing banking system liquidity to ₦7.45 trillion. When there is too much Naira in banks, people rush to buy Dollars at black market. 9d6a

But there is good news for Naira:

– Nigeria’s foreign reserves have hit an 18-year high of *$54.83 billion*, up 30% from $42.17 billion last year.
– International bank Goldman Sachs still projects Naira will appreciate to ₦1,250 per dollar in the next 12 months because of oil revenues.
