In a bid to ensure full compliance with the official academic calendar and assess the level of preparedness across educational institutions, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ubong Essien Umoh, accompanied by key directors in the education sector, embarked on a monitoring exercise to various primary and secondary schools across the state.
The delegation visited several public schools to inspect classroom activities, assess teachers availability, and monitor students turnout on the first day of the new term and session.
During the tour, the Honourable Commissioner represented by the Director of State Education Quality Assurance Service (SEQAS), Mr. Abasiama Inyang,
addressed students and staff, reiterated the administration’s commitment to delivering quality, accessible, and safe education as encapsulated in the ARISE Agenda of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, PhD.
The Education Boss noted that teaching and learning must commence immediately and earnestly, warning against any delay in executing the approved curriculum.
The Heads of the various Institutions welcomed the team and vowed to put their best efforts to achieving effective teaching and learning outcomes.
The inspection team comprised of Directors from the State Secondary Board (SSEB), the State Universal Basic Board (SUBEB) and the State Technical School Board (STSB).
The Ministry of Education confirmed that monitoring teams will remain deployed across all local government areas in the coming days to ensure full compliance across all schools statewide, as well as closures of unauthorized schools.
To prevent financial loss, parents and guardians are strongly advised to enroll their children and wards only in government-approved, registered schools.
