Unidentified bandits on Friday released 12 kidnapped Assistant Superintendents of Police in Zamfara State.
BBC Hausa Service reports that the policemen kidnapped two weeks ago in Katsina State were takeen to a hospital for a checkup.
It said a government official denied that any ransom was paid for their release.
The wife of one of the ASPs had told BBC Hausa last week that her husband asked her to sell their house in order to raise the N800,000 ransom demanded by the bandits.
The report said the pokice officers kidnapped two weeks ago had been taken to hospital for a check up.
