Xenophobic attacks: Apostle Suleiman to pay for 20 Nigerian returnees

Popular pastor and televangelist, Apostle Johnson Suleiman on Thursday offered to pay for the tickets of 20 Nigerians willing to voluntarily return back home from South Africa.

Suleiman, who is the president of Omega Fire Ministries, said in a tweet that he learnt that 900 Nigerians had shown interesting being voluntarily repatriated.

He advised them to register at his church’s branch in Johannesburg.

He said: “Just heard 900 Nigerians want to return home from South Africa. I asked that flight tickets be bought for 20 Nigerians in South Africa who want to return home..I will take care of the cost..pls register at our church in Johannesburg Wee will airlift more by God’s grace. God keep you all alive.”

Up to 187 people were airlifted from South Africa to Abuja on Wednesday aboard Air Peace Airlines.

Another set of returnees is expected to arrive on Thursday.

The Nigerian government has already promised to provide financial assistance for them to resettle back home.
