The World Trade Organisation has demanded an explanation from Nigeria over the ban on importation of vehicles through land borders.
The organisation also queried Nigeria over the restrictions and high tariffs placed on various items. This includes 41 items placed on a prohibition list from accessing official dollars by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
This development was confirmed by the Special Assistantto the Ministerof Trade and Investment, Prof. Charles Osakwe, after a meeting with WTO officials in Abuja.
He said the global body demanded explanations on how the restrictions would aid trade between Nigeria and the rest of the world.
