An unidentified woman died in Wednesday while in a taxi from the Ekiti State capital, Ado-Ekiti, to Igede.

The woman had boarded the taxi at one of the public parks in the state capital and did not show any signs of ill-health when the journey began.

She, however, suddenly took ill on the way and slumped.

All efforts by the driver and the passengers to revive her failed.

The matter was reported at the nearest police station and the police took the driver into custody.

The woman’s corpse was deposited at a mortuary while it was discovered that she had neither a telephone nor any means of identification.

The spokesman for the state police command, DSP Sunday About, confirmed the incident and said her relatives  were being sought.
