Twitter on Wednesday deleted three offensive tweets posted on President Muhammadu Buhari’s handle.
The tweets sought to collectively blame Igbos for the arson and attacks on police stations and facilities of the Independent National Electoral Commission in parts of the South-East.
Buhari had in the offensive tweets vowed to re-enact the civil war devastation of the South-East by Nigerian troops, for declaring the region as the Republic of Biafra.
The tweets inflamed passions and led to widespread condemnation.
Twitter in a single line comment said the tweets violated its rules.
Twitter has late last year suspended the handle of then United States President, Donald Trump, over his intemperate posts.
