UPDATED traffic alert: Heavy duty truck grounds traffic on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway


Traffic has been grounded on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway around Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries at Magboro, Ogun State as a truck conveying heavy duty equipment  got stuck on the road.

The truck was trying to convey the equipment into Buildwell Company opposite MFM when it got stuck, blocking the entire expressway in the process.

Metrostarng’s check on Google Maps showed that both sides of the road are blocked for long stretches.

Federal Road Safety Corps spokesperson in Ogun State, Route Commander Florence Okie, who confirmed the incident said; “The crane that would remove the stucked truck has been contacted and is driving in from Lagos. The situation has impaired traffic on both sections of the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway.

‘Motorists are advised to use alternate corridors till the traffic situation improves . The alternate corridors recommended are the Ikorodu – Sagamu ; Lekki/Ajah – Epe and Lagos – Ota – Abeokuta corridors.

Motorists affected by the gridlocks should cooperate with the FRSC and other sister traffic and emergency agencies during the period of restoring traffic, by not driving against traffic ,to avoid compounding the traffic situation .

UPDATE: The truck was removed at 8am while FRSC marshals battled to ease the gridlock.
