One of Nigeria’s top business journalists, Me. Ayodele Aminu, has been appointed Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of New Telegraph Newspapers.

Aminu, who was the deputy MD/E-i-C, was elevated following the exit of the MD/E-i-C, Mrs. Funke Egbemode, from the company.

Egbemode applied for a leave of absence to serve on the cabinet of Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.

Her name was among the 35 submitted to the state house of assembly by the governor on Tuesday for screening and confirmation as commissioners and special advisers.

The Board of Directors of New Telegraph Newspapers wished Egbemode well in her endeavours.

She was able to move the company from a rented duplex in Agidingbi to a befitting structure owned by it on Adeniyi Jones in the Ikeja Business District.

Aminu has previously worked in The Nation and Thisday newspapers where he excelled as an authority in business, economy, investment and allied areas.

He joined New Telegraph Newspapers at inception in 2013 as Deputy Editor (Business) and has contributed immensely to the growth of the paper.

Aminu is also widely travelled and highly respected in business circles around Nigeria for his incisive knowledge of the financial sector.
