Spain’s sports court bans Lewandowski for three games

The Spanish sports court has punished Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski by banning him for three consecutive games.

Lewandowski was sent off in Barcelona’s game against Osasuna before the World Cup break in November.

A court in Madrid overturned his sentence last week, allowing the player to play in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Espanyol.

Now, the 34-year-old Polish national will not play in Barcelona’s matches against Atletico Madrid, Getafe and Girona.

Lewandowski was given a yellow card twice, the second time after he hit David Garcia in the face, in the game they won against Osasuna with a score of 2-1.

The Spanish Football Federation suspended him for two straight games, due to his misconduct towards the referee.

Espanyol were angry with the court’s decision that allowed the player to play in the match they competed in, which led to the president of the team and some of their seniors refusing to attend their match against Barcelona.
