Seminar: UNILAG Muslim students drop Sowore as speaker




Muslim Students Society of Nigeria University of Lagos chapter has dropped the publisher of Saharareporters, Omoyele Sowore, as one of the guest speakers at  this year’s Academic Counselling Services.

The society conveyed the decision in a leter, to the former president of UNILAG Students’ Union by its President, Salaudeen Hassan Taiwo, and Chairman, Planning Committee, Jubril Alani, dated July 31, 2019.

The letter was titled, ‘Regrettable Correspondence.’

It explained: ‘This came after (a) series of digital and physical publicity have taken the campus by storm. The school management’s concerns are akin to conflict of interest. And thereby advised that we schedule you for another programme.

“We concede the irrevocable effect of negativity this shall have on the quality of the event, and more importantly the acceptability and attendance at the event.

“As we regret every inconvenience this may be causing your eminent personality,  we pray for Almighty Allah’s mercies and bk saints upon you.”
