Schools to reopen with morning, afternoon classes

Nigeria’s 115,000 schools will reopen soon with morning and afternoon classes to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among children and youths.

This was unveiled on Wednesday by the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, at the daily briefing of the Federal Government’s COVID-19 taskforce in Abuja.

He said the date for the resumption of schools would be worked out by the three tiers of government.

He said no date has been fixed for the reopening of schools.

He urged the proprietors of the nation’s 35,000 private schools to co-operate with government to ensure a smooth resumption of academic activities.
