Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb has announced that the legendary footballer Loinel Messi has been appointed as the country’s tourism ambassador.

Messi received a warm welcome when he arrived at King Abdulziz International Airport in Jeddah on Monday.

The footballer was accompanied by his team-mate Leonardo Paredes, the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder and his team-mates.

Welcoming Messi, on his Twitter account, the tour minister said, “Today we welcome Lionel Messi and his friends to Saudi Arabia.

Congratulations on seeing the rich treasures of the Red Sea and the rich heritage of our country.

This is not his first visit, nor is it his last, and I am pleased to announce that Messi is now the tourism and recreation ambassador at the Saudi Ministry of Tourism. ”

This is Messi’s fourth visit to Saudi Arabia after leading his country to a friendly against Saudi Arabia at King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh in 2011.
