Sagamu boils after SARS kills popular footballer

Sagamu in Ogun State boiled on Saturday after Special Anti-Robbery Squad policemen attached to Obada Police Station shot and killed a popular footballer, Kazeem Tiamiyu aka Kaka, on Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway.

The footballer was reportedly returning from training in the state capital, Abeokuta, when SARS policemen tried to flag his car down.

Unsure of their identities, he and other occupants of the car continued

SARS then fired at one of the tyres and the car somersaulted and burst into flames.

When news of the incident hit Sagamu, youths took to the streets demanding the arrest and prosecution of the killer policemen.

Kaka was a defender and the assistant captain of Remo Stars Football Club.

His admirers took to Twitter to condemn the incident and pour invectives on the police, especially over the rate of killings, illegal arrests, harrassment and extortuons by SARS.
