Pandora Papers: EFCC invites Peter Obi for questioning

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has invited a former Governor of Anambra State and erstwhile vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Peter Obi, for questioning over the Pandora Papers.

He was linked in the trove of information to a number of alleged illicit deals using offshore accounts.

There are indications that his invitation to appear on October 27, 2021 was in response to a directive by President Muhammadu Buhari to security agencies to investigate all Nigerians named in the publications.

He is to meet with EFCC investigators in Abuja, according to online newspaper, Premium Times.

A request for comments from his media aide, Valentine Obienyem, was not answered to.

Other influential Nigerians so far named include the governors of Kebbi, Ogun and Osun states; Senator Stella Oduah (APC, Anambra North); All Progressives Congress National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki; and businessman, Leno Adesanya.
