Ogun: Unknown persons shut IBEDC isolators with padlocks, charms




Unknown persons on Monday prevented officials of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company from accessing isolators located at Magboro in Ogun State.

Metrostarng learnt that the unknown persons locked the isolators with chains and padlocks.

They also posted objects suspected to be charms.

The situation prevented the utility from providing overnight power supply to customers under Ibafo 2.

In a WhatsApp notice to the affected customers, IBEDC said: “Good evening all. This is to inform you that we will not be able to radiate supply to ibafo axis today due to palocking and chaining of all the isolatorso. Not only that the isolators were chained and padlocked, they also put charms around all the isolators making impossible for us to open and close the isolators for load transfer.

“These actions were carried out by Magboro youths. I want to assure you that ibeydc management are taking necessary steps to resolve this issue as soon as possible. We are committed to serving you and I plead with you to bear with us pending when this unfortunate situation is resolved. I believe that it will be resolved sooner than later. Sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused you. Thank you for the understanding.”
