Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano on Friday stormed the three offices of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police in the state and freed some detainees being held illegally.
The governor visited #SARS offices at Awkuzu, Neni and Ekwulobia whee he freed three detainees.
He promised to set up a judicial panel of enquiry on Monday to look into complaints against the disbanded #SARS.
The panel will be headed by a retired judge.
Obiano had earlier sacked his senior security adviser, CSP James Nwafor, who was the #SARS commander in the state before he returned recently.
Nwafor was accused of extra-judicial killings and brutality as well as a number of other crimes.
