Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano on Friday sacked three monarchs and extended the suspension of three others.
The sacked monarchs are Igwe Chijioke Nwankwo of Nawfia, Ihwe Anthony Onyekwere of Owelle and Igwe GBC Mbakwe of Abacha.
In a statement by the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Greg Obi, the governor also extended the one-year suspension of Igwe Kelly N. Nkelly of Igbariam; Igwe (Dr.) Emeka of Ifitedunu; and Igwe Peter Uyanwa of Ukwulu.
Meanwhile, the governor lifted the one-year suspension of five other traditional rulers in the state.
They are Igwe Simon Ikechukwu Chidubem of Umumbo; Igwe A.N Onwumene of Ikenga; Igwe Mark Anthony Okonkwo of Alor; Igwe Chukwuma Bob Vincent Orji of Ezinifitte; and Igwe S.O Uche of Ezira.
