NPFL: Azeez’s brilliant performance helps MFM secure first win of the season.

Mountain of Fire Ministry secure their first win of the season following a brilliant header from Precious Roland in the 56th minutes to beat Plateau United at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

The Lagos based side controlled proceedings with chances created in the first half but there was no breakthrough to record at the break.

The game resumed with MFM on top of every good deeds trying to get their first goal of the season but Fidelis ilechukwu side was equalled to the task early in the second half

After so much bore fest, the game came alive for the fans in the 56 minutes off a lovely build up which landed in Tunde’s Azeez possession, who equally did justice with a fantastic cross as the striker was there at the right spot to hand MFM the lead via brilliant header.

Plateau United were unable to level matters with half an hour of football played as the referee signifies the final whistle at the end of 90 minutes with MFM emerging victorious in the encounter.

In an interview with Azeez express his feelings to get their first win of the season.

“I’m excited for the first win of the season, there are issues with the venue but despite the challenges, I give thanks to my teammates for team spirit to win the game, he said.

The intelligent midfielder played all 90 minutes and feel his availability is a big plus to the team.

“I think my availability will bring changes to the team, the players are confident and ready to improve on this performance, he added.

The 23-year-old concluded by saying, “The shape is good and will try to improve on the offensive style to win more.”

Tunde’s assist is his first major contribution to the team this new season. He came off the bench and played 23 minutes in the first game, he was out due to injure in the second but came back in the third game with a superb 90 minutes performance.

The Olukoya boys will travel to Bauchi to honor match day four game against Wikki Tourist on Sunday.
