Northern Govs: We can’t lock down entire region


Northern governors on Monday resolved that they would not lock down the entire region in response to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The 19 governors, who met via a virtual platform, said each state would be allowed to make its own decisions on whether to lock down or stay open.

The Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum and Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, said in a statement that the region had thousands of farmers who could not be prevented from carrying on with economic activities as the rains had started.
