Nigeria’s Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday declined to confirm or deny rumours about President Muhammadu Buhari’s health.
Osinbajo, who was accosted by State House reporters after a meeting with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, at the Presidential Villa, however siad Buhari would clear the air on his health status at the right time.
He denied reports that he was under pressure to resign and pave the way for Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, to take over power.
He said he spoke with Buhari earlier on Monday on the latest developments about the 2017 budget and the nationwide protests against the administration’s policies.
Osinbajo had earlier on Monday tweeted assurances to the protesters that the government had taken note of their cries and would take decisive action to ease the pains of Nigerians.
