The League Management Company, organisers of the Nigeria Proffesional Football League, has announced a date for the resumption of the league.
According to a communique released late on Monday by the General Secretary Salihu Abubakar, the 2019/2020 NPFL season will resume on September 22 and run through May 17.
This also confirms that the NPFL will be returning to its original thirty-eight match format after the abridged 2019 format that saw a champion being determined after a post season playoff tournament.
The released NPFL time-table which is subject to change or modification will feature four midweek match days which if implemented will be the fewest played in the league in recent times.
However, a notable omission in the released time table are dates for the state and National Federation Cup fixtures as they are yet to be confirmed by the Nigeria Football Federation who are the organisers.
Enyimba are the defending champions after winning the 2019 abridged format.
