Nigeria cuts visa fee to $160 for Americans

The Nigerian government has cut visa fee for Americans visiting the country to $160 (N58,000).

This was contained in a statement by the spokesman for the Nigeria Immigration Service, DCI Sunday James.

He said: “The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service Muhammad Babandede MFR has effected the visa fee changes directed by the Honorable Minister of Interior Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as it affects American Citizens to $160. The change has been effected in the Service portal and all our Diplomatic and Consular Missions are advised to comply with effect from 29th August, 2019.

2.The Honorable Minister of Interior exercised the powers conferred on him in Section 30 subsection (1)of the Immigration Act, 2015.”

The Federal Government had earlier on Wednesday slashed the fee in response to American Embassy’s hike of various classes of visa fees for Nigerians.
