Edwin Clark, a distinguished former Federal Commissioner for Information and a pivotal figure in Nigeria’s South-South region, has died at the age of 97.

His passing occurred on the evening of February 17, 2025, as confirmed by a family statement issued by Prof. C. C. Clark.

The announcement from the Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, expressed gratitude for the support and prayers received during this difficult time.

The statement noted, “The family appreciates your prayers at this time. Other details will be announced later”.

Clark’s death comes shortly after the loss of another prominent leader, Ayo Adebanjo of Afenifere, who died at the age of 96.

This marks a significant moment in Nigerian politics as both leaders were influential in advocating for their respective regions and communities.

Further details regarding his memorial and contributions will be shared by the family in due course.
