Two persons were confirmed dead on Saturday after a storey building on Abeje Makaz Street in Agege, Lagos collapsed partially.
The two victims – Sherifat Olalere (11) and Toyin Ogundamisi – died when the building collapsed around 10.45am while Mustapher Salaudeen was rescued from the debris.
The building had been showing signs of distress, prompting some occupants to vacate.
General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Adesina Tiamiyu, confirmed the incident to journalists.
He said: “LASEMA GM said: ” Investigation carried out by the LASEMA Response Team at the scene of incident revealed that a distress storey building suffered partial collapse at the backside. Other occupants of the building were immediately evacuated.”
