Angry mob burns truck as four die in Benin autocrash

An angry mob on Monday night destroyed the windshield of a truck and set it ablaze after a Toyota Vanette intra-city passenger bus rammed into it at Oliha Market junction in Benin, Edo State.

Witnesses said the driver of the passenger bus was speeding in a downpour and did not notice that there was a stalled truck at the trafficlight intersection of Siluko Road and Erhunwunse Street.

The driver of the bus commonly known as tuke tuke and three passengers reportedly died on the spot.

However, the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, Mr. Johnson Kokumo, who confirmed the incident, said it was only the driver that died.
