I love Tinubu (OPINION)

I love Tinubu (OPINION)

I have sympathy for Tinubu.

His peers envy him and bad mouth him their closets

Friends and foes

Rather than study his politics, they wish him a disaster

Those who worship Emperor Wike see Tinubu as the model of high-handedness.

What his opponents won’t admit is that even Tinubu’s faults would have been magnified in most other politicians if those their fancied politicians had access to and control of Lagos.

I love Tinubu (OPINION)

Many think Wike’s control of Rivers Judiciary is wisdom.

Rivers State Governor Nyeson Wike

El Rufai nudged away Shehu Sani, just like that.

Atiku bought PDP presidential ticket in one night in PH.

Tambuwal chooses everybody in Sokoto PDP

But TInubu is their epitome of an overbearing politician.

Afenifere can’t sleep without dreaming about Tinubu

How can an entire clan reduce itself to such pettiness.

If Herdsmen torment the Southwest, Tinubu will become an instant traitor or an outcast except he orders the extermination of all Fulanis.

When EndSars seized Lagos, the first fingers pointed at Tinubu. Some Buhari loyalists in government labeled it a devious plan by Tibunu to embarrass the federal government. Then when hoodlums took over, many politicians, including those who had implicated Tinubu wanted the ENDSars hoodlums to burn Tinubu’s properties.

Tinubu is not a saint.

But the PDP had 16 years to roast their arch enemy.

I have seen lords in Rivers buy up Portharcourt. One governor in Imo owns a significant percentage of Owerri. Many governors own more of Dubai than Emirati billionaires.

This isn’t to excuse corruption. Corruption is evil.

But Tinubu’s hold on Lagos has more to do with service than money and vote buying.

Let me say it again. Comparatively, Lagos has had the fairest elections in this country since 1999 . Lagos campaigns are devoid of violence. Lagos elections are better, freer and fairer than the elections in other states.

If Lagos’ strategic importance is factored in then Lagos elections have been, by a mile, freer than all others.

In the last two elections, despite the near absence of opposition politics prior to elections, the margin of victory had been less than 10%.

But ask some Nigerians. They will say nobody rigs elections more than Tinubu.

I know success breeds bitterness and warts

But why do even Tinubu’s friends and beneficiaries wish his downfall.

Perhaps he has succeeded too much already.

Perhaps there is something about his style that should be reformed.

There is something I know

Tinubu, as bad as they say he is ,

Is better than 99.9% of Nigerian politicians.

He stayed in the opposition. Fought the ruling party. Built his party. Held on to his state through fairly good governance. And extended his grip to his region.

If those who have governed states in this country had built political vehicles by wooing their people with small vision and a little development, the country would have been slightly better than it is.

He hires smart people.

Tinubu is not a saint

We have had 100 governors

He is in top 5 !!!!
