Global news group, Cable News Network, on Thursday fired back at Nigerian Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed; for dismissing its report on the October 20, 2020 killings at Lekki in Lagos.

Soldiers and policemen had reportedly shot and killed an unspecified number of #ENDSARS protesters at the tollgate.

CNN provided graphic details of the alleged killings in a report dismissed by the minister as false.

At a press conference in Abuja, the minister called for sanctions against CNN although he could not provide any evidence to the contrary.

A CNN spokesperson swiftly countered him in a statement , saying the documentary was “well researched.”
