Soldiers on Tuesday night opened fire on unarmed #ENDSARS protesters at Lekki tollgate in Lagos.
The protesters had remained defiant after Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu declared a 24-hour curfew.
Though the governor moved it from 4pm to 9pm, some officials of the state government were at the tollgate to remove CCTV cameras and security lights.
It was later discovered that this was to give adequate cover for soldiers to shoot at protesters undetected.
The soldiers also breached the Geneva Convention by refusing to allow the evacuation of injured persons to nearby hospitals.
The development led to shock as Nigerians wondered why President Muhammadu Buhari decided to send armed soldiers to shoot young people demanding an end to atrocities by the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police.
