Kidnapping: Police arrest Ebonyi governor’s brother in-law



The pool ce in the Federal Capital Territory have arrested the brother in-law of Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi.

Bethrand Chukwu was arrested alongside some alleged accomplices while trying to collect ransom from the relatives of victims.

He had allegedly been using the state government’s lodge in Maitama, Abuja to hide kidnap victims.

The former local government councillor reportedly blamed his sister and her husband for abandoning him.

The police also arrested and paraded the following:

Frank Uzor, 26
Nweke Uche, 19
Chester Uzor, 25
Chukwu Betherand, 27.

Two alleged accomplices: Chukwu Samuel 25, and Kelechi Ngene were allegedly arrested at the point of collecting ransom from a relative of their victim.

The FCT police command announced it had rescued three victims.
