Kebbi: Terrorists invade Federal Govt College, abduct schoolgirls



Kebbi State was on Thursday hit by an unintended group of terrorists who invaded Federal Government College in Yauri and abducted some schoolgirls.

The terrorists riding on motorcycles overpowered the school’s securitymen and seized their Toyota Hilux van.

They also shot some students and made away with an unspecified number of schoolgirls in the van.

Many pupils were injured as they fi d to the bushes to escape from the terrorists.

The member representing Yauri at the National House of Representatives, Muhammad Bello Ingaski, told BBC Hausa that the terrorists abducted both men and women on Thursday.

“The terrorists overpowered over 20 police officers deployed to protect the school. They shot and stabbed many of them,” Ingaski said.

“Some of the police officers stabbed have been taken to hospital. The gunmen have kidnapped students.”

Last week, Terrorists attacked Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic in Kaduna and kidnapped staff members and students.

In May, a different set of terrorists kidnapped little children in an Islamic school in Niger State.

This followed a series of attacks on some other educational institutions, including Greenfield University and Federal College of Forestry and Reserve Management, both in Kaduna State.
