Ino State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, on Thursday formally commenced the rehabilitation of roads across the state, by earmarking 16 roads for immediate attention.

Ihedioha said on his Facebook page that the roads include Nkume/Owerri Ebiri/Umuowa/Orlu, Imo State University Teaching Hospital, Umuna, Mgbidi/Oguta, Douglas/Emmanuel College/Naze and Naze Poly/Ihiagwa/Obinze.

Others include Control Post/World Bank, Ahiara Junction/Okpala, IMSU/Bishop’s Court, Okigwe Town/St. Mary’s Catholic Church, MCC/Toronto Junction, ABA Branch/Ahiara Junction, Concord/Zuma/Port Harcourt.

The governor also opened the reconstruction of Dan Anyiam Stadium and Grasshoppers International Handball Stadium and laid the foundation stone for technical colleges in Okporo, Orlu and Owerri.

These would serve as points of contact for the technical colleges in Ahiara Mbaise and Osu.

He also commended Zenith Bank for taking up the cost of the construction of the technical college at Owerri as their Corporate Social Responsibility and urged others to emulate the laudable gesture.

He said his administration was discussing the state of Owerri/Orlu/Akokwa road with the federal government and promised that development would be evenly spread across the 27 local government areas of the state.
