Ikeja Rotary Club rewards LASUTH workers

The Rotary Club of Ikeja has rewarded five diligent employees of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) for excellent performance and dedication to duty.
Those honoured at the event held at the Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, include Dr. Tunmise Bamisile (Best Doctor); Mrs. A. F Aina (Best Nursing Staff); Mr. Kingsley Igbenosa (Most Valuable Male Staff); Mrs. Adekola Funmi Aderonke (Most Valuable Female Staff) and Mr. Osisanya Samsondeen (Most Punctual Staff).
Speaking at the event, president of the club, Rotn. Olaitan Ojuroye, who noted that it was necessary to encourage workers adjudged to have performed excellently well in 2016, said the selection of the awardees was strictly carried out by the hospital management.

She added that the cordial relationship that exists between the club and the hospital would encourage the club to do more for the hospital subsequently, noting that as the club turns 50 this year, it would set up a monument in the hospital to further strengthen the existing relationship.
Responding, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. David Oke, lauded the club for the gesture. At the event, one of the recipients, Bamishile, also got a cheque of N250,000 from the chairman of Elizade Nigeria Limited, Chief Michael Adeojo, a past president of the club.
Adeojo commended all the awardees for their diligence and commitment to the task of giving their patients the required attention and encouraged them to always seek to do more.
Meanwhile, the club also donated books, dictionaries (English, Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa languages) computer, printer and several reading materials to the language laboratory of Ikeja Junior High School.
The principal, Mr. Safiyu Sakiru, who received the items on behalf of the school, expressed appreciation to the club and promised that the items would be put to productive use to improve teaching and learning.
