House party: Funke Akindele, husband plead guilty

Popular actress and producer, Funke Akindele Bello, and her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, on Monday pleaded guilty to violating the provisions of the emergency declaration of the Lagos State Government on the COVID-19 pandemic by holding a house party and posting same on social media.

Funke was arrested in sunday night at her home in Amen Estate near Lekki, Lagos while her husband and controversial artiste, Naira Marley, who performed at the party, were nowhere to be found.

The actress was taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department at Panti, Yaba, Lagos for interrogation while the police advised her husband and Marley to show up or be declared wanted.

Both of them were arraigned before a Chief Magistrates’ Court on Agege Road in Ogba, Lagos where they pleaded guilty to the one-count charge.
