Urgoji at an interactive session with reporters where he reviewed the activities of the college the previous year said hard work, dedication and commitment of all members of staff contributed to the successes recorded.
According to him, the college again emerged the overall first position in the 2016 National Business and Technical Education Board (NABTEB) External , Examination results.
This, according to the FSTC boss was revealed at the just concluded Annual General Meeting (AGM) of all Principals of the 104 Unity Colleges in Uyo, where the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Anthony Anwukah presented the merit award and 42 certificates to the college during the event.
He added that the college also won the Academy with highest number of graduated students, in an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) competition organised by UNITeS CISCO Network Academy, thus joining the “Cisco NetAcad 1000 Club.” The college was among the top five in Africa in Africa and would be representing Nigeria in a United Nations’ organized programme in March.
According to Ugorji, a student of the college, Miss Chinenye Ibeneme, emerged first in the 2016 edition of the Terry Maxwell Book Review Project, where the Book “Weep Not Child” by Ngugi Wa Thiongo, was reviewed. She walked away with the star prize of a Laptop and cash prize.
Also the college emerged overall first position (boys’ category) and winning the highest number of medals in the December, 2016 Federal Government Colleges (Fed Col) Games, in Enugu.
