Three weeks after the death of his Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari, President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday unveiled a former Nigeria Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Prof. Agboola Gambari, as his successor.

News of Gambari’s appointment broke on Tuesday although no presidential aide was willing to speak on it.

However, Gambari, who served Buhari during his time as military head of state as minister of external affairs, was driven into the Presidential Villa on Wednesday to attend the meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

He was thereafter unveiled as the new chief of staff and taken round the expansive complex by State House staff members.
