A former President of the Republic of Liberia, Dr. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, on Saturday bemoaned the indefinite suspension of the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority Ms Hadiza Bala Usman.
The MD was suspended early May for alleged financial improprieties by the Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi.
Her suspension was endorsed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
A panel of enquiry has been set up to investigate her tenure.
In a tweet, the former president said: “I am disheartened to hear about the suspension of Nigerian Ports Authority MD @hadizabalausman, who I have known to be an accomplished leader and dedicated public servant. I urge adherence to the rule of law and fair and equal treatment as the situation evolves.”
