Ekiti records four new COVID-19 cases


Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Saturday reported that the state had added four new COVID-19 cases.

He said the information was provided by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

A statement issued by Fayemi reads: “Ekiti State Government has received notice from NCDC of four (4) new
COVID-19 positive cases, in the State.
2. The new cases are primary contacts of the 4th recorded case, a male doctor,
aged 45 years old, who carried out a surgery on the recently deceased third
positive case, during childbirth.
3. The newly confirmed cases are currently stable and asymptomatic and they
have been transferred to the State’s Isolation Center, Ado-Ekiti while our
contact tracing team have commenced the process of contact identification and
tracing of their immediate contacts for isolation.
4. This brings the total of COVID-19 positive cases in Ekiti State to eight (8) –
five (5) active, (2) discharged and one (1) death.”
