Diri wins Bayelsa PDP gov primaries

Senator Duoye Diri was on Wednesday morning declared the winner of the Bayelsa State governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party held at Sir Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre in the state capital, Yenagoa.

Diri, who is the anointed candidate of Governor Seriake Dickson and the Restoration Family of the state chapter, polled 561 votes to beat 20 other contenders, including a former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Timi Alaibe.

Alaibe came second with 365 votes while Keniebi Okoko poled 132 to place third.
