Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote; founder of Globacom, Dr. Mike Adenuga; and President of Famfa Oil, Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija, are on the Forbes list of the world’s top 1,940 dollar billionaires.
They remain Nigeria’s only dollar billionaires for almost one year after bug names like Femi Otedola, Abdulsamad Rabiu, Dickens Igho Sanomi, Tony Elumelu, Jim Ovia and Orji Uzor Kalu dropped off the list.
The latest figures were obtained from Forbes real-time assessment of their holdings as at Thursday afternoon.
While Dangote is at No. 105, with an estimated worth of $12.2bn, Adenuga and Alakija are at No. 250 and No. 1290 respectively.
While Adenuga’s worth is at $5.8bn, Alakija stands at $1.6bn.
They have occupied these spots for almost a year after losing a sizeable portion of their fortunes.
Dangote, who owns 88℅ of Dangote Cement through a holding company, has remained off the list of the world’s top 100 billionaires in the period.
The three billionaires have remained on their respective positions for almost a year, after they dropped sharply due to the recession that hit Nigeria in 2015.
