CoVID19: Nigerians rush for face masks, gloves, company shut

Amid news about the discovery of an unnamed Italian who developed the symptoms of Coronavirus days after coming into Nigeria, the rush for face masks and gloves has started across the country.

In Abuja and Lagos, Nigerians thronged pharmacies in search of the items prescribed for precaution by health authorities.

Many pharmacies ram out of stock within hours

Meanwhile, 28 persons who came in contact with the Italian since he came into Nigeria on Monday have been identified and quarantined.

The industrial concern in Ewekoro, Ogun State which the foreigner visited after landing in Lagos has also been shut.

Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi,told journalists in Lagos on Friday that the Italian was being isolated at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Yaba, Lagos State.
