COVID-19: NCDC organises training for Anambra policemen


Nigeria Police Medical Services Anambra State Command in collaboration with the National Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) on Tuesday organised a one-day training for Police health officers on COVID-19 “infection prevention and control” in Anambra State.

A statement by the spokesman for the state command, SP Haruna Mohammed, said the aim of the training was to equip Police health officers with the basic skills needed to prevent the spread of the dreaded corona virus among officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, who are at the forefront in the enforcement of Government order against the spread of COVID-19 which has become a global pandemic.

While addressing participants during the training session at the Command Conference hall,the Commissioner of Police, CP John B.Abang,fdc, enjoined them to pay attention to the lectures in order to get the requisite knowledge about the deadly virus and how to prevent its spread through various control measures for the benefit of the entire officers and the rank and file in the command.

The training was facilitated by Dr. Jane Ezeonu of NCDC and the Command Medical Officer, CSP (Dr.) Emelike Chinenyen.
