COVID-19: NBA suspends games after player tests positive


The National Basketball Association has suspended all games till further notice after Utah Jazz centre, Rudy Gobert, tested positive to Coronavirus.

The test result came out before Utah Jazz were due to play Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

The statement was posted on the NBA’s Twitter handle on Thursday morning.

“The NBA is suspending game play following the conclusion of tonight’s schedule of games until further notice.

“The NBA will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic,” the league said.

Though he was not in the arena during the game but he playfully touched the microphones uses for the post-match press conference.
