#COVID-19: FG opens special account, begs Nigerians for more donations


The Federal Government has opened a special bank account into which it is asking Nigerians to donate towards the fight against COVID-19.

Government also commended individuals and corporate organisations that had so far donated towards the cause.

This was contained in a message from First Bank to customers, in which it said government was soliciting for donations from the general public.

It reads: “The Federal Government has commended the support of Individuals and corporate organizations that have donated and complemented its efforts at combating the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.

The Federal Government has also recognized the interests of Nigerians who wish to partner with it to flatten the COVID-19 curve. For seamless co-ordination and collection of financial donations from the public, the Office of the Accountant General has opened a dedicated FirstBank account through which donations can be paid.

Individuals, groups and organizations wishing to support the Federal Government’s effort at combating the COVID-19 in Nigeria are free to deposit their financial donations in the dedicated FirstBank account.
