President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew and trusted ally, Mamman Daura, was in Wednesday flown to the United Kingdom after developing breathing difficulties.
The President’s relation, who is in his 80s, had recently come under attack for saying that competence and not zoning should guide the choice of the nation’s leader.
Saharareporters said on its website that Daura had had a history of renal issues and had to be rushed to UK when he couldn’t breathe properly.
No word has been heard from the presidency over the matter.
Buhari had in recent months lost his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, and another ally, Isa Funtua, to the virus.
