Theatre and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria on Tuesday urged members to suspend production while the lockdown by the Federal Government lasts.
TAMPAN President, Bolaji Amusan aka Mr. Latin, made the declaration on Instagram.
He stated that the lockdown imposed by government in response to the Coronavirus pandemic had hampered movement across states.
As a result, it would be difficult for actors to access the locations of movie productions.
He also it would be difficult to adhere to social distancing rules given the large number of cast and crew for each production.
Amusan also said movie scenes requiring close contact would run counter to government’s directives.
He, however, said that any producer who feels he or she can meet all the requirements of government can go ahead but warned that the association would not be involved in any unpleasant fallout.
