A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’abba, on Friday debunked reports (not Metrostarng) that he had succumbed to Coronavirus.

The rumour spread like wildfire as reports said he died after battling Coronavirus in Kano.

The rumour gained currency in the light of the deaths of prominent persons in the ancient city in recent days.

However, in a terse text message delivered to the media, the controversial former lawmaker said: “For the information of all my colleagues, I’m hale and hearty here in London. I will be back in Abuja as soon as flights are available.

“Those spreading such rumours will definitely pay a high price for their mischief. Cheers to all of you.”

Na’abba had some months ago Saud President Muhammadu Buhari was unfit to govern a complex entity like Nigeria.

He also led a failed attempt to impeach President Olusegun Obasanjo and had several battles with the Executive during his tempestuous reign as speaker.
