Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, is dead

The Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mallam Abba Kyari, has died at an undisclosed location from the dreaded novel Coronavirus.

His death was announced in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Present on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, on Saturday morning.

He said Kyari tested positive for Coronavirus and had been receiving treatment before dying on Friday.

“May God accept his soul. Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly,” Shehu added.

It is not clear if his body will be released to his family for burial because the Minister of Information and Orientation Alhaji Lai Mohammed had Saud in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria recently that government would not release the bodies of Coronavirus victims to their families.

He said it was in line with government’s policy.
