Buhari appoints dead Ebonyi indigene into federal board

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday nominated a dead chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ebonyi State, Chief Tobias Chukwuemeka Okwuru, into the board of a Federal parastatal.

Okwuru was listed as number 12 on the list of nominees read by the President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, on Tuesday.

Okwuru was a member of the House of Representatives and crossed over to the Labour Party.

He later defected to APC but she’d in February 20, 2020.

A former Commissioner for Information in Ebonyi State, Chike Onwe, said on his Facebook page on Tuesday that the appointment was belated.

Onwe, who is a lecturer at Ebonyi State University, said: “PMB, please in God’s name allow us to mourn our dead. Keep your belated appointment.”
