Boko Haram on Friday attaed a section of the national grid, throwing Maiduguri and environs into darkness.
The insurgents attacked the 330KV line between Maiduguri and Damaturu.
The insurgents had some months ago destabilized the 132KV Damboa-Maiduguri line, leaving communities covered by the network in darkness, according to the General Manager (Public Affairs/, Transmission Company of Nigeria, Ndidi Mba.
TCN said it had located the affected area in the Mauduguri-Damaturu line and would fix it immediately.
It pledged to restore bulk electricity supply to the distribution company covering the affected areas by Monday (today) and apologised to its customers for the inconvenience.
It thanked the Nigerian Armed Forces for protecting its equipment in vulnerable areas.
